A Huge Appreciation of Barbra Bernát

After researching money design and processing ideas for concepts to pursue, Barbra Bernát has produced a hugely influential and creative response to a Hungarian bank note. Using copper plating and etching she has achieved a tonal and detailed composition emphasising the delicate nature of the subject content. She has explored wildlife in her Euro redesign, incorporating a fluid composition. The use of etching is not something I have considered so far despite used heavily during my foundation year. The idea of a resist print is very intriguing, yet may be technically hard to create by hand as everything will be designed in reverse. She incorporates Screenprint/Letterpress alongside foiling to create a clear legibility, fitting into the current Currency conventions.
