Communication is cohesion and agreement, wether an understanding of a particular language or within a particular content

Language has evolved very naturally

Red is the most potent, reference to socialism and communism as the most abrupt confront to capitalism.

Using Helvetica add's a formal ad organised look

Spanish CNT posters (their version of our labour party).

Black and red triangle is a symbol of anarchy and socialism.

CNT Poster, Spain, very reminiscent of ww2 propaganda. Very grotesque illustrations of the enemy.

Environment

bp responisible for gulf of mexico oil spill so perpetuated by Greenpeace.

Use of metaphors, puns converted into a visual language for communicative advertising. A little bit superficial???

WWF practice based sleek advertising, rather than DIY prints of design actively contributing to society

Interesting uses of content

WWF Billboards 'Oceans are rising faster than ever'

Charity tries to tug on heartstrings, can go too far, they are guilty at shaming people (the viewer) to incite action. However, tastefully it can be very impactful.

Is it appropriate to upset the viewer? Sometimes.

NHS has a reputation for grotesque anti-smoking campaigns

Says everything it needs to say straight away- good approach but advantages and disadvantages

Can be unengaging if not visually striking

"Amnesty shines a light into the darkness"

Public Awareness campaigns, make use of the content in which they are situated and interacting with the outside environment.

If the US land were divided like US wealth... 'Occupy movement'. Really successful and that started in Wall St.

Jonathan brainwork did infographics and branding for Occupy Wall Street- all the resources are owned by 1% of the population.

Barn brook also produced the affermermal 'Disobedient Objects' exhibition at the V&A. Made for protest and occupation. Very brave move for the V&A to move. 'Disobedient Objects' by Jonathan Barnbrook catalogues, 2014.

"i am a little upset"

Can be sweet and playful or can be abrupt and angry
