OUGD505: Feedback 01 / Resolving a direction

In response to the ideas generation and crit, I decided to explore the shock tactic route, but first I need to find out if people actually know things, or if its just the people I have spoken to about these issues which may be a select few. Either way, to be certain this brief has credibility I need to conduct some primary research and set up a quick survey or focus group directed at a wider audience, encompassing a wider age and ethnicity range. This will ask if participants know about current world events, and what forms of communication they access their news in.

As the brief is titled 'Product, Range, Distribution', a broad versatility it is essential. Articles circulate the internet all the time, often about trivial things, yet some give insightful knowledge and interesting points of view (i.e.: Dazed and Confused/ conspiracy theory synopsis) for audience engagement is huge.. It would be interesting to see if they favour immediate internet communication over the 'shock factor' of a newspaper headline.

Simon Harrison Feedback

  • Keep it refined
  • don't look at Africa look at why people don't know about the East African Crisis
  • research the ways the media deceive us
